Once again the monsoon season is upon us and though the past couple of years seemed to not bring much rain, this year’s is definitely wet. During storms in the past ones like we had today (Thursday July 15th) the parks and other areas tend to fill up with rain water. This is, in fact, what they are built for. They are water retention areas. They hold the water during heavy rains so the rest of the surrounding areas do not get flooded.
These flooded parks do seem like a place to bring your family after the rain stops and have some fun, and while I must recommend you stay away from the parks during times its flooded, I have seen many families already utilizing them to beat the heat.
