  • Solar Lighted Park Pathway

    Solar Lighted Park Pathway

The West side pathway into the park now has a much needed solar light. That part of the park was always a dark spot at night. This solar light was originally placed by the basketball court, however it wasn’t doing any good there and the Board felt it could be better utilized by providing light for that pathway.. which you can see it, indeed, does. We have also moved the solar light on the other side of the basketball court to where the above mentioned light used to sit, between the ramada and the court. And we will then have…

  • Accent Lights on the New Steps

Accent Lights on the New Steps

We’ve added some accent solar lights to the newly installed platform steps at the north side of the large park. While it wasn’t that dark there at night, it does provide some light to show where the steps edges are. Stay tuned for more lighting updates soon.

  • New Platform Steps at the Large Park

New Platform Steps at the Large Park

One thing the park really needed, for those of us who live or come into the park from the north side off Evans, is.. well.. a way to get into the park! At least, one without having to walk around to the ramp by the ramada. Until now, we had to try to walk down the rock covered slope in hopes that we don’t slide or fall on the way down. Well, now, we have steps.. BIG.. W I D E.. WOOD.. STEPS! This has always been one of the goals I’ve wanted to see get accomplished ever since I,…

  • More Downed Trees & Erosion & Other Updates

More Downed Trees & Erosion & Other Updates

Storm Damages The recent storm has once again knocked down a couple more trees on Acoma. The HOA is already on top of these and they should be cleared soon. Park Erosion The clean up around the playground area and sandlot is still underway. We had a few supply shortages with the railroad ties that will be placed around the sandlot as well as on the north side just west of the playground they will be used to create layered platforms to make large steps into the park. The erosion holes should be filled with concrete any day now which…

  • Downed Tree and Park Erosion Updates

Downed Tree and Park Erosion Updates

We had a large tree come down a few days ago during one of the high wind storms. It was located just behind one the of entry way monuments on 175th and Acoma. We have a crew on site today to remove it. It’s a big visual loss for the area and another tree should be replanted there. Park Erosion I’m sure it goes without saying that we’ve all seen the taped off section in the large park where we had some erosion issues do to the park flooding during the that large storm where it rained all day and…

  • Disc Golf Nets in the Park

Disc Golf Nets in the Park

To continue our efforts improving the parks and providing more activities, the Board has had 4 disc (Frisbee) golf nets installed. These are permanent and were placed in such areas to provide enough space between them and also so the there wont be tons of Frisbees being thrown into the streets. You will of course need to provide your own discs (Frisbees) and choose any spot you’d like to stand in when throwing. We didn’t want to limit your options. These are only here for fun or practicing but if you want to make a game out of it, that’s…

  • Dog Waste Bag Stations

    Dog Waste Bag Stations

The community has had a few of those “pick up after your dog” signs now for a while, so it only made sense to get a couple of the stations to hold bags for you to use to do just that. These are just filled with standard grocery bags and any and all residents are asked to please keep these stations full. We all have extra bags laying around or from each time we go shopping, so we ask that you help keep these stations full by shoving those extra bags in them. This is the way most dog parks…

  • Happy Easter Saturday!?

    Happy Easter Saturday!?

On Saturday, April 16th, starting around 10:00AM, the community will celebrate Easter by having fun in the large park. We figured Saturday would be better day to get the community together, that way families can have Sunday for doing their own activities. There are a couple of residents, Brittany and Kayci, that have volunteered to be a committee and will plan and run the event. There will be plenty of candy, food, drinks and fun for all! Please see below for more details and what you can do, should you want to help out. Details There will be a bounce…

  • Newly Painted Park Ramadas

    Newly Painted Park Ramadas

The ramadas in the parks have been newly painted with a cleaner look. As the colors of the community have more earthly tones, we removed the red color and we kept the green for the main color and yellow to match the table and benches. The basketball hoop post was also re-painted in yellow.

  • Introducing Poor Daddy’s Landscaping

    Introducing Poor Daddy’s Landscaping

The State of the Community Good help is hard to come by. As President of this community’s Board of Directors, I can honestly say that Wayne (VP) and myself have constantly tried to get our past landscaping vendor to do what they were contractually obligated to do. In fact, Wayne has personally walked this community almost everyday for over the past 1 year and a half watching the landscaping vendor, taking notes, talking to them, pointing things out, I mean you name it. And despite those efforts, the vendor just didn’t come through. Promises were broken, plants were not watered,…
