Planned Power Outage – July 2021

APS has a 2 hour planned power outage scheduled on July 20th at 11:00 PM through July 21st at 1:00 AM. This is may be due to the construction that they have been doing on Acoma but says they are completing upgrades to electrical facilities in the area. This will likely effect all of Greenway Parc 2 and maybe some surrounding areas. Here are some things to keep in mind:– Ensure you have working flash lights.– Keep your refrigerator closed during this time to help keep it cold inside.– Shut down computers prior to outage.– If you need your vehicle,…

  • Election Results 2021

    Election Results 2021

On Tuesday, May 25th, we held our annual meeting at the park. This marked the 3rd attempt to have the meeting as the first time we needed to reschedule because we found out Wayne, our current Vice President, whom was asked to join the board last year to help fill a vacant seat, needed to be elected in order to stay on the board. So ballots had to be resent because of that. Then, during our second attempt to have the meeting, there wasn’t enough votes to meet a quorum for the election. Finally, on Tuesday, the meeting took place…

  • Solar Light Added In Park

    Solar Light Added In Park

We’ve added a new solar light in the large park just off the side of the basketball court. The goal is the light the darker side of the park and it seems to be doing just fine in that area. We will be testing it out for a few months and possibly will be adding a few more if it works out. We may add one above the basketball net to help light the court as well. While we know thinning the trees will help with that, having a light dedicated to the court would be help all year round.

  • New Trash Cans and Grills

    New Trash Cans and Grills

As some of you know, after the annual meeting on Tuesday, we had a “Meet Your Neighbor” BBQ event and we had the pleasure of cooking on the new grills added to the parks. There are basically the same type of grills we had before but they have a bit stronger grilling section. This is where the old grills seemed to fall apart on us and why they needed to be replaced. We also went ahead and replaced the trash cans as well. These new cans have a bigger lid and should help contain the waste inside better and not…

  • APS Construction on Acoma

    APS Construction on Acoma

APS has been doing some construction along Acoma for a few weeks now. They should be finished soon. The Board did not receive advanced notice of this work, otherwise our installation of new granite on the common areas that was scheduled just prior to APS starting their work, would have been held off until the APS work was completed. However, be rest assured that once this work is completed, the granite installation along Acoma will continue and look just as great as it does in the rest of the community.

    Addressing Some Concerns

As your Board President it was brought to my attention a FaceBook post that had a few questions I am more than willing to address. First, David Gillies owned a home in GWP2 and was Board President. He has over 30 years high level business experience. A number of residents including the current Board asked for some of his insights when CMC cancelled their contract and prior Board President left. He will be happy to answer any call 1-630-240-7022. Please leave a message and he will call you back to discuss your concerns. David Gillies does this Pro Bono. The…

    New Granite/Rocks Added to Community

As many of you may have seen, and mentioned on previous posts, new granite has been added across all of the common areas in the community. This also includes the surrounding water retention areas. This along with the freshly panted flowers and plants has made a major impact on the way this community looks. Going from one of the worst summers last year where a lot of our plants had died, and many of those not having the water they needed due to improper or broken drip lines and irrigation, to having most (on our way to all) of the…
